The Columbus Consolidated Government Department of Community Reinvestment will host a Virtual Public Meeting for residents to discuss the Former Georgia State Farmers Market Brownfield site. Experts will be on hand to share updates on the site and provide information to help residents understand the Brownfields grant program. Residents will have an opportunity to participate and ask questions.    Please join us to listen and provide input.

The Columbus Consolidated Government is in the process of applying for a grant from EPA to assist with cleaning up the former State Farmers Market located at 318 10th Avenue, Columbus, GA. If successful the grant could provide the City up to $500,000 for the site to be transformed into a green space area that connects Porterdale and Riverdale cemeteries. During the meeting we will also provide an update on the status of the Brownfield Assessment Grant that was awarded in 2017.

Public Meeting - EPA Brownfield Clean-up and Assessment Grants Flyer

The CCG – Department of Community Reinvestment will host community meetings for residents. Experts will provide information to help residents understand the Brownfields grant program. Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and to provide input.

Experts will study the neighborhoods to identify any potential brownfield sites. The experts will provide their recommendations for future brownfield development.
